board meeting

Greetings,

The District 29 Board of Trustees met on December 16th for its monthly meeting. A quorum was present, and standard business was completed, including the approval of the November minutes, expenditures, and payroll.

The reports from both Principal Alford and Principal Broyles were reviewed. This has been a month filled with holiday activities. Thank you to the PTO for hosting HolidayFest and to all of you who came out to support them. The Boys’ basketball season is winding down. Girl’s Basketball season is underway. Go Mustangs!

Superintendent Price reviewed the Flathead County Superintendent of Schools Statistical Report for 2024. It can be found at flathead.mt.gov/department-directory/schools.

The Board accepted Superintendent Price’s intent to retire in November. We have decided to use the Montana School Board Association Administrator Search Services. We are in the process of reviewing the position posting they have created.

The Board accepted the resignation of Scott Simonson from the District 29 school board. We would like to thank Scott for his many years of service and wish him great success as he moves forward in other endeavors.

This resignation creates an open position on Somers District 29 Board of Trustees. Qualified candidates must be a resident of the district and eligible to vote. If you are interested in serving on the Board of Trustees, please contact Superintendent Joe Price at 406-857-1022 or joe.price@somersdist29.org.

The Board accepted the resignation of Ms. Massie, the LES office manager. We wish Allie great success as she seeks career training in another field.

Upcoming meetings: The Monthly Board meeting was changed for January. It will be held January 27th at LES.

Wishing you all a safe and Merry Holiday and a Happy New Year.
