Montana taxpayers have a rare opportunity this month. Individuals and businesses may make donations to schools and deduct the full amount of the donation from their 2024 state taxes. For our public schools this is called the Innovative Educational Program Tax Credit.
Those wishing to donate money to Somers District #29 must bring their donations to the office at either Lakeside Elementary or Somers Middle School by 4:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 16. Donors must also provide their name or business name, the last four digits of their Social Security number or the full federal employer identification number for business donations, a mailing address, physical address and email address.
The school district can accept donations of up to $200,000.00. Any amount donated will be appreciated and used for Innovative Educational Programs such as transformational learning, technology, or services and equipment for students with disabilities.
